The Journey of a Dream

I've shared these pictures on my main blog...but I thought I would compile them here in one post, so you could see how the final piece of this journey unfolded.

In February, I compiled my manuscript, my author photo, my cover choice, and some other forms onto this CD and put it in the mail to WestBow press. I treasured that moment, as I thought back over the months it took me to write the book...more months editing it...more months praying over it and pondering a way to take it outside my little world and into a bigger one...all those months of labor finally delivered onto a tiny CD.

Fast forward to June....when I signed the final forms saying I'd looked over and over the book and was ready for it to go to print...

And I faxed them in! I admit to a tiny scream when I pushed send on that fax. I hoped I had it all right!

In early July, I got the news I'd waited to hear! The book was live for purchase! I immediately went to the WestBow website and saw this beautiful screen staring at me:

And then came the day when I got to see it in the hard copy form for the very first time! (I was at the lake...sorry for the hair...)

Opening the book....couldn't wait to see inside!

My book!! Not so award-winning hair.....definitely an award winning sense of relief and smile!

The first shipment - what a gorgeous sight!

And my first autograph!

What a dream come true! I've loved each step and am excited to see what comes next!

The CORRECT Address

A good writer shouldn't be too proud to print a retraction, right?

So here's my first one:

My email link has been wrong in the side bar! Good grief. Someone pointed this out to me, and it is now corrected.

The CORRECT email address is readingrebekah at yahoo

So if you've tried to email me and it bounced back to you - that would be why! All my fault and the mistake is now fixed.

My apologies!!!

Here and Ready to Order!

I arrived home today after a rather long and hot day at work. It was 80 degrees when the radio woke me up at 6 this morning. The radio guy said the heat advisory would start at 11 a.m. Are you kidding me? And of all days, this was the day I was scheduled to give a campus tour - twice. So by the end of the day, I was a rather sticky, sweaty mess, and I had every intention of coming home and taking a nap.

I found these on my porch! YES!! His Advent: Still His Greatest Gift is here in bulk! I ordered several dozen copies so I could have them to sell on my own, and if you are interested in purchasing one, I'd love to hear from you!

I set the price at $8 per copy, and if you live near me, I'd be happy to bring it to you so we don't have to mess with shipping anything. My email address is in the side bar to the left, so just send me a message if you'd like to place an order!

Since this is my first book publishing experience...and since I'm a scrapbooker at heart, I have to document every piece of the journey. :)

Told you! Sticky mess!
This was such a beautiful sight to me...opening a box of my very own book!!!!!

Let me know if you need a copy (or a few for Christmas gifts!) CHRISTMAS IN JULY!! :)

Introducing: His Advent...Still His Greatest Gift!

I'm excited to announce that His Advent: Still His Greatest Gift is now published! Though I've been writing since junior high and have published a handful of articles over the years, the opportunity to publish a book pulls one of my dreams into reality.

Late last year, a good friend of mine told me about WestBow Press - a self-publishing division of Thomas Nelson Publishers. Since I already had the manuscript to this book completed, I contacted them and began the process of publishing the book.

I've tried to savor each step of the process, and I loved the moment when the first copy of the book arrived and I was able to see the finished product.

In the days to come, I'll post a bit more about the book itself and how you can contact me to order a copy if you'd like!
